Terrapin Resources

Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative

The Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative, whose mission is to provide quality educational support to teachers, parents, and students in eastern Kentucky, promotes the use of Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots, and Pro-Bots as STEM learning tools throughout the region. Educator Katrina Stone, who works with the Cooperative, recently featured the Terrapin’s robots at the annual Promising Practices Summit in Pikeville, KY sponsored by KVEC. She reported that “Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots, and Pro-Bots were very popular and are getting ready to visit a number of schools.”

L.B.J. Elementary School in Jackson, KY, part of the Breathitt County School District, is one of the schools supported by the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative area that has incorporated Bee-Bots into the curriculum. L.B.J teacher Stephanie Thomas uses the robots in her kindergarten STEM classes. By programming Bee-Bots, students experience hands-on learning and develop skills in counting, reading, planning, and mapping a course.

Stephanie shared that “once you teach using STEM, you won’t want to teach any other way.”

We can’t argue with that!
