To celebrate the 2024 Summer Olympics and Bee-Bot's 20th birthday, Simon Hunt (teacher, author and educational consultant in the U.K.) led his students in creating Bee‑Bot-themed Olympics events. Each student cut out a paper Bee‑Bot jacket using this template. (You could use "Bee-signer" Jackets instead, which are more durable and easier for young children to use.)
Students then decorated their jacket with the flag and colors of a participating country they chose.
First, the students held a 100m Sprint event. Well, it wasn't quite 100m (more like 5m), but it was a lot of fun!
The students created more events, which required them to estimate distances and when to turn Bee-Bot. Check out the video about this project.
Even though the 2024 Summer Olympics are over, the excitement continues. Your students can hold their own Bee-Bot (or Blue-Bot) Olympics at any time of year.
Immerse your students in coding, geography, sports, art, and teamwork as they recreate and invent Olympic events right in your classroom!
