Installation

Does Terrapin Logo work with my operating system?

The desktop version of Terrapin Logo requires at least Windows 7 (64 bit) or Mac OS Yosemite to run.

The Web version runs on all modern browsers except for Internet Explorer, including almost all handheld devices such as smartphones and tablets.

How do I know which version of Terrapin Logo I have?

The most accurate way to determine the version of Terrapin Logo that you are using is to type VER (for version) in the Listener window. The VER command returns the version number and date.

It is important for Terrapin’s technical support staff to know which version of Terrapin Logo you are using in order to best assist you.

How can I install Terrapin Logo on my Mac?

Double-click the downloaded DMG file to open the contents, and simply drag the Terrapin Logo icon into your Applications folder.

Does my license code work with both the desktop and web versions?

Yes, it does! Feel free to download the desktop version, which does not require an Internet connection to work.

Where will Logo store my files?

The web version does not have any control about where to store your files on the local PC; the browser does this for you. Your files end up in the Downloads folder in your User profile folder. If there already is a file with the desired name, the browser appends a number to the file name. If you, for example, save ‘‘MYFILE.LGO’’ twice, your Downloads folder will contain the files ‘‘MYFILE.LGO’’ and ‘‘MYFILE (1).LGO’’.

If you prefer to use Logo’s Files panel, your file is stored there, and you need to download the entire contents of the Files panel as a Zip archive file, which again ends up in your Downloads folder. If you have write access to a Dropbox account, you can store your files anywhere in that account.

When the desktop version of Logo launches, it checks the current user’s Documents folder for a subfolder Terrapin Logo. This is the folder that Logo initially uses to load and save files. If the folder does not exist, Logo creates the folder.

Why don’t my graphics print?

Some customers have reported that Terrapin Logo graphics do not print using the Print command on the File menu. This seems to be confined to a limited number of printers and is usually solved by installing the most recent printer driver for the printer model.

Terrapin Logo graphics may be saved in JPG and PNG standard graphics file formats. An easy workaround for any printer problems is to save graphics in a file and then load the file into a graphics program, such as Paintbrush, and print from there.
