Special! Take the Next Step with Blue Connection

Meet Blue-Bot, the Bee-Bot with a Bluetooth connection! It operates just like Bee-Bot, making it easy for students to get started right away. But, connect to it remotely and Blue-Bot reveals extra capabilities that develop even more skills.

The Blue Connection bundle pairs Blue-Bot with a TacTile Code Reader. This hands-on, screen-free remote control brings a new level of excitement to the coding process.

Instead of pressing Blue-Bot's buttons, students place command tiles on the TacTile Code Reader, then press its Send button. Blue-Bot follows the commands in order, even from a distance. Students learn how to debug their code—just swap or replace tiles and try again if Blue-Bot doesn't do what they want.

Blue-Bots controlled remotely can make 45° and 90° turns as well as execute loops: repeated sets of commands. Students can now explore different angles and design more complex routes. Challenge them to create polygons with up to 8 sides with just a few commands using loops.

The standard Blue Connection bundle includes:

The Extension Tile Pack (25 tiles) is now included Free in the Blue Connection bundle for a limited time. These extra tiles for 45° turns, pause, and repeat provide powerful additions to the coding experience..

Add more TacTile Code Readers to the bundle at a discount and link up to three together to create longer programs (up to 30 commands).

Read tips for using the TacTile Code Reader with Blue-Bot and Tuff-Bot.

This special bundle is available through 12/31/25, so take the next coding step with your students now!

Customer Story: Project CODER in its Second Year

This summer, the Snap Inc. Institute for Technology & Education at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) partnered with the City of Carson’s Parks and Recreation Department to lead a second round of Project CODER, a six-week STEM summer camp for students ages 7 to 12.

More than 115 campers engaged in hands-on learning with Bee-Bots and other educational robots. Campers explored foundational computer science concepts such as sequencing, algorithms, debugging, and spatial reasoning, while also being introduced to block-based coding. Bee-Bots offered a fun and accessible way for students to develop computational thinking through interactive, screen-free challenges.

At the end of the camp experience students shared their projects with 100+ family and community members. A popular exhibit featured student-designed Bee-Bot mat challenges. Working in teams, campers created original challenges and obstacle courses that applied their coding knowledge in creative and strategic ways, inviting visitors to try and solve them.

During this final event, students were recognized with awards and a Bee-Bot was raffled off to one lucky student, compliments of Terrapin. The giveaway added an extra spark of excitement and capped off a summer filled with exploration, learning, and fun.

New! Coding Journeys: Garden Fun

Summer gardens can yield glorious vegetables! What is better than farm-fresh produce at your dinner table? These new online mats engage your students in thinking about growing fruits and vegetables. The mats allow students to explore the same content using Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots, and Pro-Bots. They can help you learn when a student is ready to advance to a bot with more features. See all the Coding Journeys.

Bee-Bot Garden

Blue-Bot Garden

Pro-Bot Garden

In the Bee-Bot mat, students explore vegetables that grow below the soil and above ground on stems. Have them circle each vegetable, then go to the basket. Can they collect all the vegetables?

In the Blue-Bot mat, students explore a southwestern cactus garden. People make jelly and lemonade from Prickly Pear fruit and cook the cactus pads (called nopales).

In the Pro-Bot mat, follow the journey of vegetables from planting seeds to selling them at a Farmers Market—a true "farm to table" experience. It's important that students know where their food comes from!

The printed Country Road Mat also provides many opportunities to discuss food production.
