Build Code with Logo Blocks

Logo Blocks

Terrapin is excited to introduce Logo Blocks, a free and user-friendly visual version of Logo, designed to help students start coding with minimal typing.

Using Logo Blocks, students simply snap together blocks of code to create programs, reducing typing errors and allowing the focus to remain on the key elements of programming—sequencing, logic, and problem solving.

What sets Logo Blocks apart is its ability to automatically translate visual blocks into traditional Logo code. As students build programs using blocks, they can see the corresponding Logo commands. This helps them understand how their block code relates to text-based programming. Logo Blocks forms a natural bridge to more advanced programming.

Students can start with Logo Blocks and proceed through three levels before transitioning to the full Terrapin Logo environment, which includes both the block interface and the complete Logo language. Terrapin Logo is available for schools and individuals, and anyone can explore it with a 14-day free trial.

As a special incentive, Terrapin is offering a free InO-Bot turtle robot to new Terrapin Logo licensees. Students can use the same Logo commands to control both the on-screen turtle and the turtle floor robot, bridging the gap between virtual coding and real-world robotics.

Logo Blocks provides a simple and welcoming entry point into the powerful world of Logo programming, helping students develop skills that evolve from visual coding to full text-based programming and robot control. Try it out!

Spring into STEM with Tuff-Bot

Tuff-Bot traversing grass

Spring weather offers the perfect opportunity to bring learning outdoors. With

Tuff-Bot—the Rugged Robot, students can practice coding, problem-solving, and scientific observation while exploring the school environment.

Tuff-Bot features a rugged shell and oversized wheels that allow it to travel across asphalt, grass, and other common schoolyard surfaces. Tuff-Bot is ideal for outdoor coding challenges, mapping activities, and STEM investigations.

Program Tuff-Bot using on-board buttons with no other device required. Tuff-Bot can move without pausing between commands while its extended range makes it well-suited for larger spaces. Built-in sensors help Tuff-Bot detect and avoid obstacles, and headlights even activate automatically in low light conditions.

Add the Tuff-Bot Data Logging Backpack and Tuff-Bot can collect environmental data such as light levels, humidity, and temperature from different locations around the school. Students can analyze the data back in the classroom—an engaging way to connect coding with real-world scientific inquiry.

To celebrate spring, Terrapin has reduced prices on Tuff-Bot and the Tuff-Bot Excursion Bundle and is offering free shipping on both through June 30. Spring is a great time to take coding, exploration, and STEM learning outdoors.
